Holy mother of spicy, what do we have here? I see Chalice of the Void and Trinisphere, which makes me think one thing, but also Green Sun’s Zenith, Deathrite Shaman, and Knight of the Reliquary, which makes me think something entirely different. In fact, this deck is somewhere in between a value deck and a dedicated disruption-prison deck. Let’s take a deeper look at the deck, starting with the disruption-prison half.

Chalice of the Void is arguably the strongest disruption card in Legacy, as so much of the format revolves around casting one mana spells and being more efficient than the opponent. Its inclusion as a 4-of makes a lot of sense in this deck as well, as the deck looks to ramp with Green Sun’s Zenith and lands that produce multiple mana for one land. Trinisphere is similarly well-positioned in Legacy due to the amount of low-cost cards in all decks in the format.

The other central piece of disruption in this deck is Choke, which is usually relegated to the sideboard. However, this deck is going all-in, including a full 4 copies of the powerful enchantment. The power of Choke is undeniable, and it can single-handedly win matches against some of the most popular and important decks in the format.

The grindy half of this deck is similarly unafraid of breaking deckbuilding conventions in Legacy. A full 4 copies of Sylvan Library? That’s crazy! The only creature in this deck that has more than one copy included in the mainboard is Obstinate Baloth, which is mainly included for both Burn and discard like Liliana of the Veil. The rest of the creatures are targets for Green Sun’s Zenith, which allows this deck to both take advantage of the extra mana created by the lands and Mox Diamond, and find the most optimally-positioned card when it’s needed.

Some of the more interesting inclusions are Titania, Protector of Argoth, which allows you to take advantage of Knight of the Reliquary and other lands, Centaur Vinecrasher, which combos well with the other land-focused cards such as Knight and Titania, and Meren of Clan Nel Toth, which is a very powerful engine build into just one card.

Here are the changes I would make going forward:

-1 Choke

-1 Sylvan Library

+1 Mox Diamond

+1 Qasali Pridemage

-1 Trinisphere

-1 Spike Weaver

+1 Maze of Ith

+1 Qasali Pridemage
